Pain catheter

If injections are no longer sufficient in the case of severe pain, doctors often recommend back or joint surgery, even though the patient's treatment with conservative methods is not complete yet.

Alleviating pain – fast help with severe pain

A pain catheter closes a necessary gap in a treatment cascade that is as gentle as possible.

A pain catheter is very low risk and can be put in place without requiring a hospital stay.

With over 6,000 pain catheter treatments performed, our centre has maximum experience in this field.

The method is suitable for the following clinical pictures:

  • Herniated disc
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Radicular syndrome
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Pain after back surgery

How the method works:

Our specialists insert a small probe into the spinal canal in the region of the tail bone where a mixture of analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs is administered over the course of several days.

With extremely severe complaints or massively restricted mobility, we can also perform the therapy during an inpatient stay at our private hospital, Privatklinik Jägerwinkel at Tegernsee Lake.
